Teen RAVE is an amazing program for teens 14 to 17 years old with developmental delays and special needs. As a program of RAVE, it is our hope to support the children in positive social experiences throughout our community. It is an opportunity for families to receive respite care while encouraging child-to-child interaction and to build social skills with their peers in a variety of community environments. The participants range from having Developmental Disabilities to Down Syndrome as well as Autism. They have enjoyed activities such as bowling, dinner out with their friends, and ice skating at the outside rink. The volunteers have been trained at the RAVE Family Center and have made life long friends with teens who participate in the program.
The Teen RAVE program began as a pilot program from the Fund For A Healthy Nevada in 2006, and continued for the past three years with a private donation from a Teen RAVE family. We hope to continue the program with new donations from our community supporters.
